Building Faith for Bible Pathway is part guide book, part devotional book that helps you read straight through the entire Bible in one year. It helped (and still helps) me to read the Bible and increase my faith. I was given the opportunity to bring it back to print. It’s now available for purchase at Amazon and other book stores. You may also see the sidebar on my website.
Here is an excerpt (December 25) from when we are in the New Testament. A reader would begin with the daily guide (below) and then read the Scripture chapters listed – in this case it would be Revelation chapters 6-8.
Verse for Today:
“Blessing [praise], and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen” (Rev. 7:12).
Heaven echoes with “praise” and ceaseless adoration by the angels and living creatures that surround God’s throne. These seven words of praise teach us about God’s character and attributes and they enable us to join with the angels of heaven in praise and worship of God—now and for eternity.
“Glory” describes the splendor of His being. “Wisdom” reveals the supremacy of His knowledge, knowledge that is available to us through His Word, prayer, and His Spirit (1 Cor. 1:30; Col. 2:3).
“Thanksgiving” is a natural expression of our gratitude to the Lord, who alone is worthy of the highest “honor” (see 1 Thess. 5:18).
“Power” points out the supremacy of our God over all evil forces. “Might” emphasizes His unlimited strength to perform His promises to all who call upon Him.
The concluding “Amen” expresses the full support and agreement of the innumerable host of all who stand before the throne. Praise God! We, too, can be included with that innumerable host!
“Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great” (Rev. 19:5).
Thought for Today: Praise to the Lord comes from a heart that has experienced His power in daily living.
